My Story

 

I was 9 years old sitting in my Grandma and Grandads house in Yorkshire on a cold rainy winters day. I was feeling a bit fed up as we couldn’t go outside to play due to the weather. My Grandma, sensing my boredom and knowing of my interest in all things mysterious decided to show me a secret code that she had used at work many years before.

As the rain was bouncing off the windows she took out a piece of paper and a pencil and began to write.

I was completely fascinated by the beautiful symbols and how they were a hidden code for letters and numbers that only I could decipher. I felt like a secret agent and I quickly became hooked!

Fast forward a few years and I had my own children Betty (who we call Bob) and Olive. They too have a love for all things mysterious and also play at being secret agents.

One day not so long ago I was showing them the secret code that my Grandma had showed me. That very same week I was struggling to find my friends a unique and personal wedding gift when out of the blue I had a light bulb moment!

The seed for my foiled morse code song lyric prints was sown.

We turn the lyrics of your or your loved ones favourite or meaningful song into intricate morse code dots and dashes. Each one is individual and can be personalised with your own special message too.

Bob + Olive has since evolved and grown and we now create other personalised and non personalised prints too including, Anniversary, Wedding and Baby Prints which sit alongside our signature Morse Code Song Lyric Prints.

I still live in Yorkshire with my family and work from a small studio at home where I design, create and foil every print by hand.

My aim is for people to react to my prints and feel the same curiosity and excitement as I did all those years ago when I was a little girl sitting in my Grandparents house on that cold and rainy day.
